My name is Olivia Spears, and this will be my third season teaching tap and jazz here at the MAC. I grew up dancing at WV Dance where I experienced all different styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop at both the recreational and competitive levels. In my teenage years I danced at St. Albans Studio of dance where I continued my dance training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop again in both a recreational and competitive environment. While at St. Albans Studio of dance I had the opportunity to dance in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Spirit of America dance group.
In conjunction with dance, I grew up participating in local theatre and acting classes both at The Alban and Children's Theatre of Charleston. Throughout college I continued to take dance classes for both tap and jazz.
In addition to my years of dance training I also hold a M.S. in Communication Science and Disorders from Marshall University and am currently a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist.
